  1. Describe the incidence and pathophysiology of osteoporosis in both men and women.

  2. Identify the risk associated with osteoporosis, including those that cannot be changed, those that can be changed and medical conditions that are also risk factors

  3. Discuss the recent research, including the controversy surrounding the WHI study findings 

  4. Apply effective preventive and treatment strategies for persons with osteopenia and osteoporosis
